Coaching Bursary Scheme 2009 / 10Gymnastics England is delighted to announce the launch of its Coaching Bursary Scheme, which is now available across all 10 English regions. This scheme is specifically targeted to support coaches in achieving the UKCC Level 2 qualification, and will run until the end of March 2010. This bursary scheme is the first of a number of initiatives that Gymnastics England are developing in conjunction with British Gymnastics to support all of those involved in gymnastics, on an individual, club, county, regional and national basis. British Gymnastics has a Coach Education Programme in
place to ensure a sufficient number of fully qualified active coaches
provide the highest quality of coaching at all levels to enable every
participant to realise their full potential.
British Gymnastics has been approved by the Qualification and Curriculum Authority (QCA) as an Awarding Body for the delivery, assessment and accreditation of official Gymnastics Coaching Qualifications in the UK. Having signed up to the UK Coaching Framework (UKCF) and the UK Coaching Certificate (UKCC), British Gymnastics is in the process of adapting its qualifications to the UKCC criteria. British Gymnastics is responsible for leading on the UK vision and strategy for the development of the coach education programme and the coaching of gymnastics. British Gymnastics collaborates with the Home Country Gymnastics Associations of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales for the delivery of the Coach Education Programme. |
